Master International Operational Marketing

The master’s training

During the first year of the Master's degree, the training includes general management science subjects, such as strategy and management control, but also specialised marketing courses, such as consumer behaviour studies, digital marketing, innovation marketing, etc.

In the second year, teaching is provided by marketing professionals. Moreover, there is the realisation of a project during the year in connection with companies or other types of organisations.

A good level of English is required to enter the Master's programme. Courses in English are provided throughout the two years and the TOEIC test is taken at the end of the degree.

A positive marketing

Being a marketer in the 21st century means ensuring the development of the company in a sustainable way. This economic responsibility must be inclusive, i.e. simultaneously integrating environmental and social impacts. Innovative teaching on the design of offers and new responsible business models make the Master's programme special.

The master's programme is also supported by the University's Positive Business Chair, whose objective is to develop practices and teaching of management fundamentals in order to respond to economic, social and environmental issues.

Students also benefit from teaching tools developed within the framework of the European project EDUCating Positive Management by partner universities in France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Italy.

Being part of France's leading university in the humanities and social sciences provides access to high quality speakers and allows for a unique, innovative positioning adapted to the challenges of our century.

Educational team

The MOI Master's programme is supported by teachers and lecturers from the University's Management Sciences Department, which trains more than 1,000 students each year.

Professional lecturers come to share and discuss their experiences throughout the two years of training.

Former students of the Master's programme regularly participate in the training through specific interventions and projects. They also help to find internships and apprenticeships.

What was your career path after this master's degree?

I was hired by Bouygues Telecom as an operational marketing project manager.

What do you think of the Master's degree?

It is a complete master's degree, which allows us to put into practice the theory we have learned, especially in the second year when we had the opportunity to take part in various very fulfilling projects.

Do you consider that your professional activity is a natural continuation of your university career?

Yes, the job of project manager is one of the jobs for which the MOI Master's degree prepares students. During my admission interviews, I presented my short-term professional project, which was to become a marketing project manager! Therefore, I feel that I have found a fitting continuation to my university career.

What was your career path after this master's degree?

I finished the work-linked training in October 2019 at Axa. At the beginning of November I created an escape game company with 2 friends. However, I left just after to New Zealand to do a working holiday where I worked as a barmaid. In February, I decided to come back to France to continue the company called “Le Triangle Escape Game”. Finally, we opened in June 2019, and from that point forward, I am now the manager of this escape game and I take care of all the creation, marketing, communication, social networks and business management.

What did the master's degree bring you in your professional life?

The master bought me a network, a very important thing in professional life, self-confidence and it helped me find a company where I developed my skills in creative software. When I wanted to set up my own business and find financing, my degree gave me credibility with banks.

What aspects of your life would have been different if you had not gone through the University of Paris Nanterre?

I wouldn't have met the people who are dear to me today. I wouldn't have been in contact with my former professors who I can count on to help me.

"I decided to enrol in the International Operational Marketing Master's degree after obtaining a degree in Management. My wish was to be oriented towards international product marketing and to open up professional perspectives in this field. The multi-disciplinary Master's degree has enabled me to acquire a great deal of theoretical and methodological knowledge while developing professional skills thanks to the work-linked courses. The Master's programme allows each student to build their own career path according to the area of specialisation desired."

          Academic background

After obtaining my baccalaureate in Economics and Social Sciences, I decided to do a degree in Foreign Languages Applied to International Trade at the University of Nantes. After that, I did my first internship in a communications agency in Paris. Once my internship was over, I went to England to do a gap year and I worked as a Sport Advisor at Decathlon. After a year, I joined the International Operational Marketing Master's programme in apprenticeship, at the University of Paris-Nanterre.

          Apprenticeship

I did my first year as a project manager in apprenticeship at the communications agency Panchro Numérique. For my Master 2, I will join the SNCF for a work-study as a Product Manager.

          Professional project

Thanks to the MOI Master's programme, I have discovered that Product Marketing interests me greatly. I will find out more about this profession in the field during my second year of apprenticeship. The aim is to train for my future job.

          Academic background

After a french baccalaureate in social and economic sciences, I left Paris to study International business at the University of Leeds. During my bachelor degree, I discovered marketing through classes and several internships at Air France and Elior in the marketing department. After my bachelor degree, I knew that I wanted to pursue my study in marketing. Therefore, I’ve integrated a master degree in international operational marketing at the University of Paris Nanterre in apprenticeship.

          Apprenticeship

Since september 2021, I am working as a international brand manager Louvre Hotels Group.

          Professional project

In the long run, I am hoping to gain a career within the field of hospitality as a project manager for an ethical and responsible brand.
